Cosmetic Acupuncture is a non-surgical treatment to reduce the signs of aging and to restore radiance of youth. It is based on 2500-year-old principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Treatment involves the insertion of hair-thin disposable needles into the groups of designated acupuncture points on the face and body.
Due to its anti-aging effect, cosmetic acupuncture has gained popularity in the last few years especially on the East coast and Hollywood. It was previously a beauty secret for the rich and famous. Now, everyone can benefit.
An Anti-Aging Treatment
What truly makes cosmetic acupuncture unique is that, in addition to being a much safer alternative to surgery and injections, cosmetic acupuncture is the only anti-aging procedure that will improve your overall health. You will not only look younger, but also feel younger and healthier.
General health benefits of acupuncture include but are not limited to: more vitality, more restful sleep, improved digestion, better mental capacity, and reduction in chronic conditions.
You can expect to experience deep relaxation and a sense of well-being after the very first treatment.
How It Works
The cosmetic acupuncture treatment promotes the circulation of energy and blood in the face, and collagen production for increased muscle tone and elasticity. Moreover, in the Traditional Chinese Medicine view, a person’s face is selectively affected by his or her internal organs– and as internal organs are fortified, one’s face reflects the improvement.
Radiance and vitality can be restored by facial and body needling along the meridians that improve those organs. Acupuncture works holistically, both on one’s physical appearance and on the underlying factors that affect a healthy and glowing complexion.
A typical course of treatment consists of a sequence of 10-12 sessions twice every week. Your skin will feel rejuvenated from the first treatment; visible results appear within the first few treatment sessions. One-off treatments are often used by clients to achieve that bright,
healthy glow for special occasions.
Benefits
Cosmetic Acupuncture is healthier, safer and less expensive than surgical facelifts and chemical injections. It is non-invasive, pain-free, requires no recovery time, and has no side effects or risk of disfigurement or scarring. It will bring out your innate beauty and radiance for lasting and natural-looking results.
Some of the visible results include:
- Reduction of deep wrinkles and fine lines
- Improved muscle tone and a firmer jaw line
- Moisturized and softer skin
- Reduction in puffiness
- Tightened pores
- Fading of age spots
- Clearing or elimination of rosacea and acne
- An overall rejuvenation that is not confined to your face
A 1996 report in the International Journal of Clinical Acupuncture stated that among 300 people treated with Cosmetic Acupuncture, 90% had marked effects with only one course
of treatment.

Group Acupuncture Program
If you are interested in receiving acupuncture but have been avoiding it because of the cost, you might consider coming to our Group Acupuncture Clinic. Group Acupuncture provides an opportunity for people to receive acupuncture treatments in a group setting at a discounted rate. Patients sit in chairs, fully clothed, and receive acupuncture in their ears and extremities, in the company of other people. By doing acupuncture in a group setting, the treatments are less expensive, thus enabling more people to experience acupuncture more often. However, the acupuncturist has restricted access to your body. A full evaluation session is done individually with each patient on their first visit it also includes an individual acupuncture session. And the follow up acupuncture treatment sessions are done in a group setting.
Group Acupuncture is suited to treat a broad range of problems. At the evaluation, your acupuncturist will determine whether your conditions are suitable for group acupuncture.
Group acupuncture is currently offered in our Philadelphia location only. Please feel free to call for more information.
Testimonials
Originally I came because I was having a reoccurrence of pain from adhesions due to a previous operation due to my Chron’s disease. I had heard about cosmetic acupuncture and the idea that I could do it without any cutting or any kind of damaging to my skin was very appealing and I believe in acupuncture so I wanted to try it. After about 7 or 8 treatments, I noticed the tone of my skin changed and it looked much brighter and clearer and it was just really nice. The overall experience was very comfortable and very enjoyable. Dr. Gong listens to my questions carefully and gives me very thoughtful answers and I have complete confidence in her. I continue to do the treatment every once in a while. I would say the results have lasted for months. Other people noticed a big difference in my appearance as well. I get comments from all over.
